Hive Lighting Bee 1000 Plasma Flood Kit at NAB 2016
An interview from the 2016 National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas with Jon Miller of Hive Lighting. Hive Lighting is a manufacturer of high quality lights engineered to be durable, lightweight and foolproof. They use 50% to 90% less energy than conventional studio fixtures. Their simple, rugged design makes them suitable for all types of production, whether on stages, studios or at remote locations. In this interview Jon talks with us about the ProductionHUB Award Winning Hive BEE 1000 Plasma Flood Kit & WASP 1000 Plasma Par Kit.
Hive Lighting's 1000 Watt Plasma bulb represents a quantum leap forward in plasma lighting technology, resulting in a bulb that is 5 times brighter than they current 250W bulbs.
Hive Lighting’s Wasp Plasma Par is the most versatile light source that can be plugged into the wall. Using a single unique argon plasma arc bulb, a micro-star, the Wasp is a Par, a Leko Spot, a Maxi, fits four point and eight point softboxes, photo umbrellas, traditional glass lenses and Hive’s unique HDP lenses. Adjustable color temperature between 4600°K - 12500°K CCT, easily powered with 90-277VAC or 18-38VDC. Flicker free, 30,000 hour bulb life, vibration and impact resistant, and capable of producing output equivalent of 400 - 4,000 Watt HMIs depending on accessories. This may be the last daylight fixture you ever need.
The 1000 Watt Plasma bulb produces the equivalent output of a 2,500W HMI or 10,000W Tungsten Incandescent while only using 1,150 total system watts. This 1,000W plasma bulb is a full spectrum daylight source with a 98 CRI. It produces a spectrum closest to natural daylight ever achieved. Like all of Hive's plasma products, it is 100% flicker free at any frame rate, is a single point source bulb and can offer color temperature adjustment between 4,800K - 10,000K.
